The last of summer

Spent the weekend at our summer cottage with the family. Such perfect couple of days, so relaxing. Just chilling, eating loads and basically doing nothing. I love to every now and then escape the city and all the fuzz around it, and spend a couple of days there in the middle of the nature in my favorite sweatpants :)

Today I also had my last lecture in the marketing course I've taken now, which means I'll go back to uni next time at the end of March!! Wippiee! So now I can dedicate these 11 days, before my departure, entirely to travel planning. I guess I need to work a little as well, all the money is welcome at this point...

Here are some snaphots from the weekend.

Dreaming of

Whitsundays. One of our first destinations in Australia. Pure perfection. When landing in Brisbane this is where we're headed soon after. Cannot wait.

Not a regular monday night....

...cause three weeks from now I'll be in Cuba studying Spanish! So many things still to organize before that but I couldn't be more excited. It's getting colder and darker by each day, which makes me long for the sun and the feeling of sand between my toes even more. In addition to all the mandatory things I need to fix before leaving, I need to try to get my brain into the spanish mode again. It's been way too long since I heard or read some spanish, so for me to be able to communicate myself from the airport to the hostel I have to reread some of my spanish school books. Well I'm convinced (sincerely hoping)that all the spanish will come right back to me when I get a cerveza in one hand and a plate with rice and beans in the other one.
After the four weeks in Cuba I'll have a week to do the laundry and repack my stuff back home before it's time to head down under!!!  That trip is still very vaguely planned (=not planned at all) but that is the way traveling should be done according to me. Too strict plans just kills the spontaneity. Right now I don't know where there I'm going, what I'll be doing there and for how long I'll stay exactly but that is the whole excitement of it all!
Well now time to continue looking at some accommodation options in Cuba; hard decision to choose whether to stay at Casa Juanito or Casa Lolita :D
